My name is Julie, I graduated as master in the photography at Luca-Arts Brussels so i’m a Photographer/YogaTeacher&YogastudioOwner -and Mom of 3 beautiful Girls and if i may be honest to myself i could say adventure is always lurking just around the corner.

film5zelfportret copy.jpg

I’v been in crazy adventures already (my masterproject about the Indiginous Australians in Wadey >>> Northern Territory AUS, Little hearts an orphanage in Cambodia, biking alone in the magical temples of Angkor Watt when the whole land was flooded, travelling alone to the East, diving in the great barrier and Thailand, exploring the rainforest in Costa Rica when our Youngest was 2 months, Familytrip in South Afrika, ...)

Sometimes it even feels like all of this happened in another lifetime but i feel truly blessed they did and ofcourse i feel like everything happens for a reason.

This All Made me to the person i am today. Btw i’m a firm believer in karma for those who haven’t noticed yet :)

How my yogastory began :)

An absolute lifechanger for me was the Day i left to India on 13/2/2018 for my 200 hour yogateachertraining. This experience was so intense, enlightning and awakening you couldn’t imagine. Suddenly i got answers to do many questions without even asking. I learned the power of stillness, breathing and yoga in India, THE Birthland where it al began! Very SOON my true path started to unravel and it was time to except this.. I arrived in Belgium and started with giving private classes, i designed my logo and website and before i knew it a New chapter was Born. IT All came so Natural!

Why Julie Mithra? Very simple, i don’t like yogaclasses where you don’t have connection with your teacher, my main purpose of becoming a teacher was to HELP people, and to connect on a much deeper level. Mithra means FRIEND in sanskrit so i thought that was very suitable for me and what i want to provide in my classes.

And little did i know that was only the beginning! My whole life i was obsessed by pregnancy and in 2013 i became pregnant of our first. We were living in Antwerp so there was a huge supply of prenatal yoga. But than we moved to Ostend, i became pregnant of our second and there was NO prenatal yoga available. I felt really sad and decided i wanted to make a change, as soon as i came back in Belgium i planned my course : prenatal yoga with birthlight. In 2018 i started to teach zwangerschapsyoga in de loft oostende & soon after I opened my own studio & centrum for prenatal guidance.

hypnobirthing

What a difference when I look at the photos of my first or last birth. With the first birth, we knew nothing about it, we mercilessly followed what was imposed on us by the hospital, we were not involved at all in the birth process and we were treated rather degoutantly as future parents. The whole process lasted no less than 22 hours, we were given epidurals without a word of explanation, we were wrongly pricked twice, which brought the whole process to a standstill, all possible side-effects were noted and I panicked completely. I was constantly monitored, was not allowed to get out of bed and had all the nasty side effects an anaesthetic can have. Please don't get me wrong, epidural is an EXCELLENT invention IF needed AND when not placed too early...

I became pregnant with our third and decided to attend a new training course : hypnobirthing.

My last delivery was completely on my own, I trusted my body and the process, I knew I would succeed this time WITH my partner and we did it. We were in no hurry, the baby came when she was ready. No one touched me, it just came naturally, it was very short but incredibly powerful! Our little one came into the world in a very peaceful way hypnobirthing style via an underwater birth completely the way we had hoped. Preparation is everything! I would like to do it a hundred more times this way and hope to be able to guide many more couples through this beautiful, magical moment!

birthphotography

Because i am a documentary photographer by the core and already was guiding couples all the way through birth i decided to specialize in birthphotography/geboortefotografie.

The perfect match.

Doula

Why did that night changed my life?

Well because that night i went as the invisible photographer that didn’t want to interrupt the birthing family. It turned out to be a long birth and i wanted to support the mom by putting my hand on her shoulder, she grabbed my hand and suddenly i was fully supporting her while the baby was making her way into this world! And then i realized the story was complete, this is what i needed to do, this is my purpose in life!

Spiritwoman

Although I was using Shamanisme during my whole life, I decided it was time to dive deep into the lineage and ancestral field.

In 2023/2024 I did a year traject Spiritwoman that was written in the stars.

Rituals and ceremonies are part of my daily life and practice & expanded my horizons in the closing rituals I already offered.

Mama/baby yoga

Ow and one more thing, but you probably won’t be suprised :) i LOOOVEEE babies! I would like to have a hundred more but ofcourse that is not possible!

I did my BABYYOGA and POSTNATAL course with birthlight, so i can meet all these babies after birth!

Rainbow Yoga

My desire to knowlegde was so big i needed to do more trainings and so i did, i wanted to build a community that was evolved around love and unity.

My kids will always come on first place, so i decided to become a rainbowkidsyogateacher! The end of juli 2018 we went on a familytrip to Lissabon where i did my kids/family training with rainbowyoga (the fun part was my kids could Join Some classes) and together with my husband we did a partnertraining with rainbow in Amsterdam in the beginning of september.

Last year i added my 95 hours kidsyogatraining.
